Swedish Vendor Permits to Incur Fees From July 1st

Swedish authorities will begin imposing charges for vendor permits commencing on July 1st.

The Swedish regulatory body, Spelinspektionen, will levy a set charge on entities possessing licenses to furnish gaming software to Swedish operators. The regulator mandates that firms pay a distinct fee for each permit they hold, unless they meet the criteria for a particular exemption.

If regulatory expenses surpass the fixed fee, the regulator may impose a fluctuating charge to cover the surplus. These “exceptional occurrences” could lead to additional charges.

Spelinspektionen will compute the surplus at 1,500 Swedish kronor per hour (approximately £109/$128/€141). License holders will also bear the responsibility for travel, lodging, and other inspection expenses.

While vendors are required to settle the fixed fee prior to the invoice due date, businesses must settle the variable fee one month in advance.

Swedish Vendor Permits

Spelinspektionen initiated the application process for vendor permits on March 1st. After issuing the initial permits in the middle of the month, the regulator stated that it had received 60 applications for permits.

Effective July 1st, any vendor seeking to offer services to Swedish telecom providers must secure a five-year permit.

The Swedish legislature enacted legislation last November to establish business-to-business licenses, which authorities assert are designed to enhance the distribution of lawful goods within the nation.
