Allwyn, the organization set to assume control of the UK National Lottery, has recruited two industry giants – Sharon Doherty and Victoria McKenzie-Gould – as Independent Non-Executive Directors. They’ll be joining the ranks once Allwyn formally obtains the reins (specifically, the fourth National Lottery Licence) from the Gambling Commission. Their objective? To steer Allwyn’s bold aspirations as they take on this new mantle and guarantee a seamless handover.

Doherty, currently serving as Chief People and Places Officer at Lloyds Banking Group, boasts a track record of spearheading significant technological overhauls in sectors like tech, telecommunications, and even aviation. She’s eager to contribute her knowledge to an entity as influential and widespread as the National Lottery.

McKenzie-Gould, a corporate affairs expert adept at managing intricate stakeholder environments (a skill honed during her tenure as Corporate Affairs Director at Marks & Spencer), recognizes that the National Lottery transcends mere entertainment – it’s a British cornerstone. She’s prepared to immerse herself and bolster Allwyn’s meticulous transition strategy, ensuring that players remain paramount and relish a secure and captivating experience from the outset.

The head of Camelot, Justin King, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment of Victoria and Sharon to the board. He emphasized their value as industry leaders, particularly as the company prepares its bid for the upcoming National Lottery license and the subsequent shift into a promising new phase.

King underscored the company’s dedication to fostering a diverse board that guarantees robust oversight and responsibility. This commitment, he stated, is crucial for effectively managing the intricate challenges inherent in a project of such scale.
