UK Advertising Watchdog Sanctions Jeffbet Over Misleading Promotion

The United Kingdom’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) expressed dissatisfaction with a Jeffbet promotion. The “Wager £10, Receive £30 in Complimentary Wagers” campaign lacked clarity regarding its exclusive availability to first-time users of the ProgressPlay network, the broader platform encompassing Jeffbet.

Although Jeffbet cited limited space for comprehensive explanation and emphasized the clarity of their terms and conditions, the ASA deemed the phrasing deceptive. They asserted that the advertisement should have explicitly stated the “new participant” stipulation’s application to the entirety of the ProgressPlay network, not solely Jeffbet.

The United Kingdom’s advertising regulatory body, the Advertising Standards Authority, recently criticized a Jeffbet advertisement for being deceptive regarding a promotion for new customers. It appears they were not transparent about the actual eligibility criteria, leading the ASA to pull the advertisement and instruct Jeffbet to improve their practices. Moving forward, they will be required to provide complete clarity on all terms and conditions.

On another note, the Swedish government is contemplating the closure of Casino Cosmopol, their government-operated group of casinos. Reportedly, earnings have plummeted, prompting them to explore options for minimizing financial setbacks.
