The British Columbia Lottery Commission (BCLC) has been awarded the top tier of responsible gaming certification from the World Lottery Association (WLA). BCLC’s dedication to participant wellness was praised as a “model” illustration, with its groundbreaking strategies and actions surpassing benchmarks. This esteemed honor emphasizes BCLC’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of players in all its endeavors. They stand as one of just thirteen lottery entities across North America to attain this recognition.

In their accreditation bid, BCLC underscored numerous responsible gaming initiatives they’ve enacted. These encompass their digital GameSense advisor service, the proactive stance on recovery stipulations within their Game Break self-exclusion program, and enhanced identity confirmation procedures at gaming establishments across British Columbia. BCLC also stressed the efficacy of their GameSense responsible gaming program, which is accessible for other wagering operators to license and utilize.

BCLC received a three-year accreditation from the WLA. This follows BCLC’s recently published annual report, “Centered on what’s important: BCLC Annual Report,” which displayed their 2022/23 advancements on environmental, societal, and governance (ESG) objectives.

The report emphasized BCLC’s dedication to responsible gambling, reconciliation with First Nations people, diversity, fairness, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability.

Separately, BCLC collaborated with Instant Win Gaming (IWG) to debut the well-received “Set for Life” game on their PlayNow.com platform.
