The UK and Australia are collaborating to combat irritating robocalls and spam messages that infuriate everyone! They are tired of their residents being inundated with these invasive communications and fraudulent schemes. Australia’s ACMA and the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) are partnering to exchange intelligence and pursue these cross-border fraudsters, particularly since a new report revealed that nearly every Australian has been a victim of these bothersome communications. This alliance is seen as a significant move in combating these worldwide irritants by both nations.

The UKs Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and Australia’s Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) are collaborating to address the increasing issue of unlawful telephone and SMS marketing. This alliance will enable both entities to exchange knowledge and effective strategies, making it more challenging for dubious businesses to target individuals in both nations.

Down Under, it’s a significant concern: a recent ACMA report disclosed that over one in ten Australians have engaged in online wagering in the past six months alone. This represents a rise from 8% in 2020 to a worrisome 11% in 2021, as per the “Australians’ Gambling Habits Online” study.
