Accel Entertainment experienced a robust third quarter in 2022, generating $267 million in earnings. This signifies a substantial 38% surge in comparison to the corresponding period the previous year. The gaming enterprise’s gains also escalated, with net earnings reaching $22.4 million – an impressive 108% rise.

What’s fueling this triumph? Accel attributes it to their “community-centric” operational approach, which has demonstrated resilience even as the wider economic landscape encounters obstacles. They’ve been broadening their reach, recently venturing into the Nebraska market and remaining attentive to additional prospects.

A considerable portion of their earnings still originates from Illinois, where they secured $200.9 million during the third quarter. They’ve also been actively acquiring other businesses, including a significant $1.6 billion agreement for Century Gaming.

Although their liabilities have risen due to these acquisitions, Accel appears assured in its course of action, persisting in repurchasing shares and expanding the quantity of gaming machines under its operation. CEO Andy Rubenstein underscored their dedication to expansion, emphasizing their robust performance amidst the demanding economic conditions.

The state of Illinois is inundated with video gambling devices – a far greater number than even states like Montana and Nevada, which are renowned for their gambling scenes. This proliferation of machines in Illinois is largely due to a single company, Accel, which has strategically placed them in bars, eateries, and convenience stores throughout the state. Their presence is substantial, with nearly 23,000 machines spread across almost 3,600 different venues.
